The Night Vision Awards were created in 2011 with the goal of recognizing aviation operators and units that use night vision goggles to complete missions safely around the world. Awards are given in five categories. Awards are presented three times a year at Heli Expo, the Airborne Law Enforcement Agency annual Trade show and Air Medical Transport Conference. Winners have included law enforcement, emergency medical service operators, fire fighting aviation units, and search and rescue units.
The Night Vision Awards were founded by Aviation Specialties Unlimited and now are Co-Sponsored by Night Flight Concepts along with media sponsors MHM Publishing, Vertical Magazine , Vertical 911 and RotorCraft Pro Media Network, RotorCraft Pro Magazine
